Programs: Roundup river ranch enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses and their families by offering free, medically-supported camp programs that provide unforgettable opportunities to discover joy, friendships, and confidence. Roundup river ranch serves campers through two primary programs, the summer camp and family camp, in an all-inclusive environment that is physically and emotionally supportive. The summer camp program provides an opportunity for children between the ages of seven and seventeen to experience the simple joys of childhood and to take a break from their illness with others who are facing similar challenges. Each session lasts six days and serves approximately 60 campers per session. The family camp program offers laughter, respite, support, and family connections to children ages seventeen and under and their immediate families during a three-day camp program. At roundup river ranch, campers from an 11 state service region participate in nine fully adaptable program areas, including horseback riding, arts and crafts, and a high ropes course. In fiscal year 2017, roundup river ranch served campers from 20 states. In each program area, the organization utilizes an intentional programming model, which encourages opportunities for challenge, success, reflection, and fun. Through this process, campers gain skills, self-confidence, and resiliency that can be applied following the conclusion of the camp session. In the 2017 camp season roundup river ranch provided free camp experiences to 1428 individuals. The organization relies heavily on the support of volunteers who contribute their time and talents to ensure a meaningful and individual camp experience for all campers. 876 volunteers served in 2017 in a variety of capacities, including medical, programs, cabin, facilities, kitchen, housekeeping, special events, and administrative support.
