Causes: Philanthropy, Private Grantmaking Foundations
Mission: Affiliated with rotary international; district oversees individual rotary clubs; sponsors training and programs for members of clubs in the district; sponsors youth leadership and exchange programs. Participants come from the various rotary clubs in the district.
Programs: Annual district conference. Members of all 39 rotary clubs in the district are encouraged to attend. Leaders from rotary international are speakers. Programs are designed to inform of the activities taking place within the various clubs in the district. Social events enable members of different clubs get to know each other.
ryla-rotary youth leadership awards. High school students from through the district attend an annual leadership camp. Program is run by volunteers.
youth exchange. The district helps sponsor both inbound and outbound high school seniors, giving them the opportunity to study abroad for a year. It helps arrange housing for the students. It sponsors programs to enhance the students' experience.
the district sponsors other seminars and training sessions. Pets conference is leadership training for future officers of the clubs in the district. They also coordinate trips abroad--distributing wheel chairs in mexico; us/mexico friendship conference--where future humanitarian programs are discussed. Polio vaccine is distributed to children in mexico.
