Causes: Mens Service Clubs
Mission: The rotary club of fresno's mission is to establish frindships, create networking opportunities and positively impact lives locally and around the world.
Programs: Community service: the club raised money during fiscal 2016-17 for a varity of purposes, including: provided funds to purchase computers to assist in serving people with disabilities; provided funds to support a mission to introduce cultural arts to the community's underserved school children; provided funds to support a new building for mental health and substance abuse treatment programs; provide funds for underprivileged school children to attend a zoo camp; provided funds to purchase books and supplies for the support of berevement programs; provided funds to support a new kitchen and laundry training center for the blind and visually impaired; provided funds to purchase a sailboat for the boy scouts; provided funds to a recovery program for their youth playground; provided funds to support a program benefitting the deaf and hard of hearing.
international services: the club raises money to cover travel expenses for volunteer doctors, dentists, medical technicians and nurses for an annual trip to a remote rural area of mexico which has no other medical services available. The club also provides funds for solar cooker/ water pasteurization education and training projects in africa and mexico which are needed due to deforestation and contaminated water supplies and funds to eradicate polio.
vocational services: the club raises funds for graduating high school students' scholarships based on academic achievement, financial need, future plans and extracurricular activities. The club sponsors and supports service clubs, (interact) at duncan polytechnical high school and clovis west high schools. Funds are also used to honor and recognize the accomplishments of public safety workers.
