Mission: The purpose of the foundation is to support scientific research on potatoes, sweet potatoes and other root and tuber crops, to conserve their germ plasm, and utilize that germ plasm for the purpose of:--reducing poverty among the hundreds of millions of people in the developing world;--relieving the pressure of increasing grain prices on the world's people; and--contributing to food security in developing countries.
