Mission: The rochester museum & science center stimulates broad community interest and understanding of science and technology, and their impact - past, present, future - on our lives.
Programs: Education programs - the rmsc offers exciting opportunities for young minds and life-long learners alike. Through interactions with scientists and a hands-on inquiry based approach, students and adults from ages 2-102 can share in new adventures and discover the connections of science, technology, engineering and math (stem). In our community and beyond over 90,000 students/learners were served in 2017
exhibits and public programs - in 2017, more than 360,000 children and adults explored science and technology, our natural environment, and our region's cultural heritage at the museum, strasenburgh planetarium and cumming nature center.
collections and research - rmsc collects, preserves, and makes accessible more than 1. 2 million objects and specimens in four broad categories: natural sciences, regional history/human cultures, library/archives, and teaching collections. Annually, we respond to more than 2,000 inquiries and reach out to the public via our website, exhibitions, and programs.
