Mission: Riverview center is a nonprofit agency committed to providing compassionate, client-centered care for individuals affected by sexual assault in iowa, and for individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence in illinois.
Programs: Riverview center was founded in 1992 when several sexual assault cases in jo daviess county resulted in blatant disrespect towards the survivors, and highlighted the lack of services for sexual assault/abuse victims. Riverview center is unique in that it is the only agency in the 14 county northeast region of iowa providing sexual assault services; and the only agency providing either sexual or domestic violence services in jo daviess and carroll counties in illinois. And unlike other mental health agencies, all of the services are provided absolutely free of charge without regard to sex, race, and socioeconomic status.
