Mission: Deeply rooted within the music and environmental communities, reverb educates and engages musicians and their fans to take action toward a more sustainable future.
Programs: During 2016, reverb's major program accomplishment areas were connected to three marquis tours: dave matthews band, dead & co. And maroon 5. Reverb again had the honor of joining forces with the dave matthews band - a group that we have partnered with since 2005 and with whom we created the "bama green project". The stats on this year's tour were notable: over $207,000 raised for wildlife conservation; 26,080 disposable plastic water bottles not used backstage, and over 63,500 not used by fans; 12,868 gallons of materials recycled and kept out of landfills; 19,971 pounds of compost donated to local farms; $47,686 dollars of food purchased from local farmers; 30,652 gallons of b20 biodiesel fueled in the truck and bus fleet.
in 2016, reverb worked with the iconic musicians in dead & co. We were the production arm behind "participation row" along with our partners at headcount. During this tour 1,500+ gallons of waste were diverted from landfills, 1,200 volunteer hours were logged, 2,229 voters were registered; 25,000 fans took action, and 50,000+ disposable plastic water bottles were diverted from landfills. It was an incredible experience to be on the road and be able to create programming for artists who have led the charge within the music industry as cultural change makers since the 1960's.
reverb continued our relationship with maroon 5 on the road, as we worked to educate their fans about the dangers of illegal logging and our ongoing "no more blood wood" campaign. Following on the heels of our trip with james valentine and jesse carmichael (of maroon 5) to the guatemalan rainforest in 2015, we - along with our partners at the environmental investigation agency - premiered the documentary "instruments of change: lessons from the rainforest". While out on tour the reverb eco-village contained a ryot virtual reality video booth where fans could experience (in 360 degrees! ) some of our trip as captured by jesse. Additionally we promoted our rocknrefill program and helped the band and fans to ditch disposables.
