Peggy thank YOU for all of your tireless efforts to save the pets in need in Upson County - you are their true hero!
Just a heads up…they only adopt to metro Atlanta residents. Why they call themselves Rescue Me Georgia is very misleading and false. If you live anywhere outside or even a little outside of what is considered Metro Atlanta you will be denied no matter how absolutely qualified and perfect you would be as a Rescue parent. Heartbreaking to fall in love with a dog from this site just to find out they really don’t rescue dogs for Georgia residents to live but just metro area people. We were so heartbroken to find out that just because we lived 30 minutes further than what “they” consider the metro area on a huge fenced private property safe from roads and other animals, huge home with a bedroom just for a spoiled pampered dog and are retired and would always be with them that we were denied for adoption based on being outside their not that far away cut off. Really should change their name to rescue me metro Atlanta. So if you are looking for a dog to spoil and live unconditionally and you do not live in METRO ATLANTA they could care less how perfect of a home and life you could give that animal. I feel sorry for the dogs that are missing out on living the ultimate dog life with so many people that probably could give them their best life.
Wonderful experience with RMG. We adopted our sweet girl a couple years ago and loved getting to know the people behind this awesome rescue. They are truly doing good work and I will forever be grateful for them and all their hard work to find the best homes for animals.
Rescue Me Georgia is fantastic…a terrific group of folks. I’ve been a foster for them and have a pup I adopted from them as well. They’re super to work with and care so much for the animals they serve.
We are currently fostering 4 dogs from Rescue Me Georgia. RMG had provided absolutely everything we need to be successful with our new fur babies including food, toys, crates and advice! But the joy, love and gratitude we’ve received from our foster babies has made every ounce of work with it. Life is better with a loyal, loving fury friend. RMG has helped save countless animals but in doing so they’ve made my life better.
Some say, “Foster Failure,” but I prefer “Three-Peat.”
Due to the dedication, love, and commitment of the volunteers of Rescue Me Georgia, I’ve had the privilege of adopting three canine companions from their non-profit organization. Their compassion and tireless efforts to rescue animals out of harm’s way are truly inspiring.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to saving animals while ensuring they are paired with the best possible homes for positive outcomes.
Rescue Me Georgia is a beacon of hope for animals in need and people like me who were rescued by the animals they were trying to save.
These people are amazing, they always are very transparent and tell it like it is. They go beyond to help you in whatever it is you need. They helped me obtain 1000 pounds of cat food for my community cats. Them helping me , I’ve also donated to people who needed cat food for their cats. Thank you Adrienne and Marybeth for all the hard work you do each and everyday!!
When I went looking for a senior dog to adopt, I came across a picture of a sweet dog named Tallulah. For a week or so I kept being drawn back to her story and her picture. I couldn't get her off my mind. I decided to put in an application for her and she became part of our family. She was in pretty bad shape when she was picked up and the people at Rescue Me Ga nursed her back to health. Being a senior dog with senior problems, she was only with us a little over two years. I wouldn't trade that time for anything. I can't thank this group enough. They took the time with my older girl others may not have. She may not have had an easy life in the beginning but her golden years were pampered, spoiled and loved.
I followed RMG for a few years before I ended up adopting a puppy who was in their care. Before adopting from them, I followed RMG because they seemed like such dedicated and honest people. When I finally decided to adopt from them, I got to experience first-hand how incredible the people are and how truly devoted they are to the cause of rescuing animals. These are the people who go to great lengths to rescue and tend to vulnerable animals without hesitation. Their compassion is unmatched and we’re all so lucky to have them.

RMG has really gone above and beyond. Not only did they rescue my sweet girl Romy before I adopted her, but when I needed urgent help with an unfortunate neglect situation next door, they stepped in without a moment of hesitation.
While I can’t thank them enough for doing what they did to give me Romy, nothing was more admirable and more insightful of their generosity than the night I reached out for help, out of pure desperation, when I had to rescue my neighbors dog from months and months of neglect. I knew I had to do something, but my resources and time were limited. On a whim, knowing that they could very well say no, I reached out to RMG and asked if there was anybody available to foster and provide veterinary care to the neglected dog next door. The response I got was simply “yes, of course” followed by inquiries about the dog’s condition and demeanor. So much went on behind the scenes, but in the end RMG was able to care for and provide love, kindness, meals, and a permanent home to this precious dog who deserved a better life than the one she led before. I’ll be forever grateful and indebted to Marybeth and RMG for the tremendous amount of work they do.
They are the epitome of dedication and generosity. I wish the rest of the world had just half the heart they do.
Pictured here is my baby Romy.
I have 2 wonderful dogs I adopted from RMG. They are tireless in their efforts to save unwanted abused and lost animals. I cherish my two boys that they rescued and have so much respect for the work that they do!
We got our Teddy from Rescue Me Georgia in the summer of 2017. Teddy is the most loyal and sweet pup. He loves nothing more than being home with our other two rescue pups, preferably baking in the sun or lounging on the sofa. He is very calm, only loosing his composure over food and the promise of walks. No rain please. We love our Teddy so much and will forever be grateful to Adrien and her dedication to rescue the homeless dogs of Georgia.
We had been looking to adopt a chocolate lab for a while and finally the most beautiful girl, Daisy (now Maisey), became available through RMG. The process couldn’t have been easier and we felt like they really cared about their dogs in a way that you sometimes don’t see with larger rescues. We love our girl so so much and it obviously wouldn’t have been possible without RMG!
Rescue Me GA is an amazing nonprofit. They truly care about animals and will go out of their way to make sure all furry friends are taken care of. We are so grateful to have found them!
Rescue me GA is nothing short of amazing. We always rescue and after moving to Georgia we lost our 14 year old dog. We were looking for a new buddy for our other dog and one who likes kids and the outdoors. We applied for one dog b it were going out of town and that dog had a ton of interest so he went to another amazing home. Rescue me Ga said but we have this litter of puppies who will be ready to adopt right when you get back. We got to go meet the pups and fell in love! It was hard to choose but one of them chose us. The foster family was so sweet (we still keep in touch) and the coordinators knew the little guy would be a great fit for us and us for him ❤️ They work hard going to rural Georgia rescuing dogs from horrible situations or from death row, which unbelievably is still a thing…I have since recommended numerous people to them because they do work that many of us couldn’t. Their hearts break daily but they keep going “until they alpha e a home”. I couldn’t love this group more.
My sweet Maeve was rescued by RMG. I was so lucky to find her and fortunate enough to foster a few other amazing pups. They are completely home foster based and do so, so much for dogs all across the state of Georgia. Dozens of litters of puppies have been born into the living hands of amazing fosters. Dogs who never would have had the chance are thriving in loving homes, and the phenomenal heath care providers RMG partner with go the extra mile to give every RMG dog expert care.
We got our girl Hannah from RMG and they were very thorough with the screening process to ensure that we would be her forever home. They told us she was special needs and we discussed how we as her adoptive family were able to meet those needs.
They are very friendly and inviting people so the day we finally got to meet our girl was awesome. They exceeded our expectations and the meeting went so well we got to take our girl her home.
They were confident we were the right home for her and we were confident she was the right dog for us. They gave us a bag with so many goodies for her and a blanket that she had used there that she still has too this day.
They were right, we needed this girl as much as she needed us. She is perfect for us. They did a great job matching us up perfectly.
We had a few hiccups with Hannah. She had a few quirks we were not sure how to help her with. So when we reached out to RMG they got us in touch with an amazing trainer who was not in the area at that moment, but called us to talk us through some options to help Hannah. He was on the phone for over an hour and three days later we had Hannah’s behavior under control. He stayed in touch for a while via text to ensure we had it covered. It not only helped Hannah, but also made us more confident as her family, knowing we were doing right by her.
Today, we are still in touch regularly. We are in the RGM families group and even found some of her siblings. We send pictures every so often to let them know how she is doing and we always get a response back from them. We have been told multiple times that a silly picture of Hannah or other dogs in their new homes provides a smile to them on hard days.
We still follow and support them. They are amazing people that always, somehow seem to make room for a dog in dire need even though foster homes are full and vet bills stack up trying to help those who can’t help themselves.
They are a voice for those who don’t have one. They advocate for the underdogs, they take the ones that no one else will take because they are “undesirable” or need major medical procedures.
They work tirelessly to save dogs from death. They transport, provide medical care, do fundraisers for vet bills and food, care for the animals, guide foster homes, do training, and do everything that has to do with successful adoptions. The list is never ending, and they never stop loving, caring and helping.
They don’t give up on any of them, ever. They place them in amazing homes and make sure they are in good health and condition before they do and follow up to make sure the adoption was successful.
They are amazing people, and love those that needs them the most more than anyone.
We are forever grateful for our Hannah girl, and I am pretty sure this is not the last time we adopted from this awesome rescue!
Sincerely,
The Johnson family
This group is amazing. They went above and beyond to research and contact my references and assure that I would be a good fit fir a new puppy. There is an adoption fee but the fee covers shots, neutering, free toys, food, and other supplies. Adrienne and Marybeth were available to answer questions clearly have a love of animals.
Rescue Me GA is amazing because they are 24/7 in saving animals in need. They are so energetic and work tirelessly to find the best fosters and forever homes. I found my family member through them and the time they took to make sure he was a perfect fit was wonderful. Cash is the most amazing pup!
This was our first time working with Rescue Me GA and the entire process was great. They communicated very well, during application process and after adoption to be as helpful as possible. Before heading home they make sure you have everything you need to make the adjustment home better for everyone involved. Definitely will come back here next time we are looking to rescue.
I have both volunteered and adopted from this wonderful organization. There's so many dogs who need homes but I saw such commitment to excellent care and the upmost love for the pups here I had to adopt from RMG and I'm so glad I did. They are amazing, sacrificial, hold to the best standards for the families they allow to adopt. If you're thinking of adopting, please look here and you will find the pup of your dreams.
Rescue Me Georgia has made our family complete! We’ve had an amazing experience with MaryBeth and Adrienne. We adopted a puppy from a different rescue earlier this year, and he came home sick and passed away 6 days later. We were completely devastated and heartbroken. Needless to say, we didn’t trust rescues anymore and wasn’t sure when we’d be ready for a new dog. However, after hearing about RMG from a close friend who adopted her last dog from them, we took a leap of faith and opened our hearts to a new puppy — and we couldn’t be more in love with him! MaryBeth and Adrienne personally get involved with every adoption and makes you feel like family. We are so grateful to RMG and all their volunteers who make it possible to rescue these wonderful dogs and give them the opportunity to have an amazing life. We highly recommend RMG to anyone looking to adopt a dog! We love our little man so much! Thank you RMG ❤️
I adopted both of my dogs from RMG and have fostered over 30 pups as a volunteer during the last year. I’m very close to the rescue and I can confidently say Rescue Me Georgia is a really special organization - they care about each and every dog and are extremely thorough with the adoption process. They know exactly what kind of environment each dog needs and will not adopt a dog out unless the environment is right - all in the best interest of the dog!! To do this, it requires so much time, dedication, and effort, and I just find it so disappointing to see people complain over the adoption process and/or requirements. Rescuing dogs takes a lot of patience and care - so when the adoption process is stricter, realize that is a clear indication that the Rescue knows what they are doing and CARES about the dogs. If you adopt a dog that comes from the loving arms of RMG, you can be confident they were taken care off to the fullest extent during their time at RMG. I can’t say enough good things about this organization, they save dogs from some of the most heart breaking situations and no matter what, they always puts the dogs first. They always have and always will.
We adopted our three pups from RMG and could not have been more pleased! The volunteer was attentive and answered all of our questions. I would not hesitate to adopt from them again!
We adopted a puppy with RMG in February 2018. I liked that they were very thorough in their adoption process in making sure we would be a good fit to adopt. They also made sure we followed through with vaccine and spay appointments. This shows me that they truly care about the dogs they are working with.
I have fostered dogs with RMG and eventually adopted a dog with RMG as well. I have been working with them for years and let me tell you that they go above and beyond to care for these dogs. They take every step to make sure these dogs are in a safe and loving home.
What a great team at Rescue Me GA! They work so hard placing dogs with good families. We are so blessed to have two of their Furbabies! Please keep up the great work. Your hard work behind the scenes is often overlooked and under appreciated. We are so thankful for you for bringing Mattie and Murray intro our lives. Forever thankful.
We have adopted two RMG dogs. RMG volunteers are so committed with vetting potential families to ensure that their pups find their furever home and will be well cared for. The volunteers work tirelessly responding to hoarding situations and try to ensure that every rescued dog is given the chance to get healthy and have a loving home. I would highly advocate for them!
I had never heard of Rescue Me Georgia until the middle of July. One of my dogs had passed away on July 6 and as part of my healing, I scanned the rescue sites just "looking ". I saw Archie (formly Shane) and knew I had to try to meet him. Completing the application was very detailed but easy. It was obvious the rescue group wanted to know as much as possible about the family who was inquiring about the dog in order to find the best match. My last 3 dogs were from rescue groups. This is the only group that had a 7 day trial period to make sure the dog and family accepted each other. I have been very impressed with Rescue Me Georgia. Archie is a happy puppy. He brings us much joy.
Adrienne is very thorough and made sure our hunting dog was going to a family with hunting dog experience as they are difficult and high strung animals. We love our girl, although she is very naughty, and had a wonderful experience with Rescue Me Ga.
I have known and supported RMG since 12/2017 when we lost our first dog to cancer. My family was grieving and my older child was especially distraught. On 12/28 I learned about them through my local pet store owner and on 12/30 we met with them. They actually brought Jasmine over to our house.
After speaking with and learning about my family, making sure we had a secure backyard, and giving Jasmine and us space and time to interact in our backyard - we started a trial to foster her that day. This was an incredibly delicate time for us as I was still grieving not sure if I was ready whilst my older one was grieving and could not bear being without her dog. As a compromise, we chose to foster and not adopt. I then learned in 3 weeks that we were what are called "foster failures" and we adopted Jasmine.
After adopting Jasmine, we continued to foster and I am proud to say we were able to serve 7 other (mostly young, 6-9 month old) dogs until they found their forever homes. I am proud to say that Jasmine and I taught 3 of them how to walk on a leash, we were able to nurture a couple while they recovered from surgeries, and give all of them a temporary loving home.
Recently, #10 came into our lives - Rudy. Around this time Jasmine had started to become aloof with the fosters on account I think of the having to see the fosters come and go. So as of 4/20/20 we adopted him as well and have stopped fostering. Rudy has been an inspiration to me and you can read more about that at https://rudykakkad.tumblr.com/post/616872161131610112/i-want-to-be-like-rudy.

I adopted my Cole man from RMG. Everyone was very nice and helpful through the entire process. They go above and beyond to save dogs lives. They also do their best to pair each dog with the right family. I highly recommend adopting your next fur baby from them. I know I will.
RMG is made up of dedicated volunteers who make this world a better place by showing an unending amount of compassion for animals that need it most. Through its rescue efforts, RMG has saved souls - those of furbabies and humans! I adopted my precious pup from RMG in 2016 and he has been such a great fit for my family.
I adopted my best friend from Rescue me Georgia in December 2018. I filled out an application in October and quickly found what I thought was the dog for me. That dog was already going to a trial adoption. I found another dog I really wanted and before I could get to an adoption event, that dog too was placed with another person. I began to get frustrated with the process but kept a good attitude and waited for the perfect dog for me. I have to say the folks at RMG really do know what they’re doing when they place each rescue with someone. Henley was meant to be my dog and I was meant to be his person. He is the sweetest and gentlest and most loving dog. He has fit in with our family perfectly and I’m so glad I hung in there and waited for the right one. Finding my perfect dog was definitely worth the wait!!
I have the best dog May, RMG is the best. They take such care with their animals and they made sure May was happy. I originally went to look at another dog, and RMG saw how May was attached to me and how I felt about her and said May is for you, and they were right. I am a fortunate person to have May in my life and have RMG to thank
Not one but TWO magical experiences with Rescue Me GA!
Heartbroken after the loss of my long term Chihuahua, we were looking to adopt. I stumbled across a picture of our Zoey and it was love at first sight. She had a very hard start to her life surviving parvo and a broken front leg. Rescue Me GA took her in and nurtured her back to health for several months through surgery, casts, and failed adoptions until she became ours. When we were ready to adopt again, we reached out to Mary Beth. I believe that she is like a magical doggy matchmaker. I had set in my mind what I wanted, a female chihuahua mix (like Zoey). But Mary Beth knew better what we needed. An insanely disproportionate male dachshund mix. And boy was she right! Zoey has a best friend in Wyatt, I have a very loyal little boy and we could not love them anymore.
I am passionate about endorsing the amazing work this rescue does. They are doing what is best for the animal in all cases and often take on more than they can handle knowing somehow they will make it work because the animals need them. Often their only appreciation is the kisses they get from previously neglected dogs who feel love for the first time with their amazing volunteers.
They have truly impacted our lives for the better and any time I can endorse their organization I do so willingly and wholeheartedly. Adrienne and Mary Beth and all of the rest of the team are amazing human beings!
XO,
Zoey and Wyatt's Mom
I have been involved with Rescue Me Georgia since volunteering to foster a momma dog and her pups my daughter saw on Facebook in 2014. From beginning to end it was an amazing experience. My home, my dogs and I were thoroughly vetted to make sure we were a good fit for fostering. We were supported constantly with phone calls, visits to deliver medications, and equipment to help take care of the quickly growing babies. When adoption time came, I took the puppies to adoption events and was encouraged to speak with potential adopters. I was included in the decision making process when it came time to place the puppies, and later the mom, because I was the one who knew their personalities and needs the best.
I have since fostered several other dogs for them and have always had a very positive experience.
The team at RMGa is very professional and extremely caring, taking in many dogs that no other rescue would take because they were too old, too sick or too injured.
When I am again able to foster, this is the group I will contact first.
We contacted Rescue Me Ga after seeing some of their beautiful puppies on their social media pages. We put in an application for one and it turned out she was already adopted, so we asked if our second choice was available out of the litter (don’t tell our little girl she was second choice!!). They were quick to respond that she was still available and no need to put in another application. They have been amazing with questions and even vaccinations! They did require us to have an adult dog in the home, which we do, because of socialization during a pandemic. I think that’s a great practice in the best interest of all fur babies. I thank them for thinking of that!! We love Rescue Me Ga!!
This is probably the best rescue I’ve come across as a lifelong dog lover. From beginning to end, RMG was professional, caring and CAREFUL. All too often we see careless purchases and adoptions for money. These people are not about that. I’d filled out five applications prior to finding RMG and had been turned down. When I found RMG, I was very impressed with their requirement for adopter to have another dog. I’ve had an angel from a hoarding situation that RMG rescued since 7/14/20. She’s the love of our lives and almost potty trained after being found and rescued from horrific circumstances.
One of the best organizations I have ever worked with by far! I get responses immediately about any question with the pup and the fees were more than reasonable for the shots/spaying/ and guidance that came with it. In fact, my little girl, Renn, was just spayed this morning and the process was as easy as can be.
I would 100% recommend them as they are awesome every step of the way!
We had an amazing experience with this group. We contacted them with what we were looking for and they found us the perfect match.
Will definitely reach out to them when we are ready to add a new 4 legged family member.
I have adopted four dogs through Rescue me Ga. Each time the process has been smooth. The staff is all volunteer and put a lot of effort into trying to be sure that each dog is the right fit for a household.
I adopted my beagle from Rescue Me GA. It was a great experience from the start, and was one of the best decisions I've made as he is such a great dog! Rescue Me GA always takes into account the best interests of their dogs, and works to find the best match with an adopter. It is a thoughtful and thorough process as they want the adoption to be successful for everyone involved. Once you adopt, you feel like family. I hope to adopt from them again one day.
Rescue Me GA also takes in very complex, expensive, serious medical and neglect cases, as well as many dogs who would have lost their lives in rural shelters. It would be difficult to find a more hardworking, caring rescue group out there.
I adopted my "Jake" through Rescue Me Goergia last year and it was one of the easiest adoption processes I have been through!
Andrea was most attentive to my needs as an adopter. And it was so easy to get the puppy shots.
I love the Facebook page for adopters and have even attended a doggie reunion. I will defenity use them again when I am ready for a second pup!
I had been looking for a very specific breed, and when I couldn’t find what I was looking for in my area, I expanded my search and found Rescue Me GA. I emailed them not expecting anything positive, but Adrienne got back to me super quickly. I filled out an adoption application immediately, and within hours she had someone perform a home inspection. Three days later she had my boy delivered to my house (via his trainer that was local to me). Hamilton is a special boy, and I couldn’t be happier with how this transpired.
I contacted Rescue Me Georgia Inc about a dog they were offering up for adoption only to be met with resistance, unprofessionalism and ultimately a denial to adopt a puppy because I had questions and complained about a dog's profile being unclear about it's adoption fee. Ms Adoption Coordinator was unprofessional, refused to answer my question (she kept telling me to look at the dog profile) and was not representing herself as the best advocate for the puppy. 2 minutes after I sent the final email informing her that I had looked at the doggy profile again and I was correct, the fees were not listed; she sent a reply telling me that I did not meet the criteria for adopting the dog (LIES), I'm actually over qualified for adopting the dog (I'm a veterinarian) as well as other overly qualifying factors. It appears that she was upset about being questioned, being proven wrong about the doggy profile and was angry...so angry she took it personal and denied me the adoption. We as good citizens need to stand up against people like her because she is not what we need in our rescue centers nor does she emulate the mission statement of RMG INC.

Apologies for your disappointment. However, adoption fees vary by dog and are clearly posted in each dog’s profile when the “See Details” option is clicked. Additionally, all adoption requirements for the individual dogs (such as the need for other dogs in the home, fenced yard, etc) are listed in their profiles for each dog and there is a section on the adoption application calling attention to this matter in an attempt to insure those requirements are met prior to the application being submitted. We take the time to get to know each dog’s personality and needs and set their adoption requirements appropriately.
This place should be looked into. Did not return communication for 3 weeks about application after fallow up stated that she is busy and she has a right not to return any communication if she feels like it. RMG Adoption Coordinator Should be fired. Very unprofessional and aggressive. She stated will denie our application because We are very needy. Her practice should be looked at

rmgdogs 10/01/2020
At your above request, a full audit of our records pertaining your experience has been completed. Two adoption applications were received using your email address- one on 7/28/2020 and one on 8/3/2020. As the automated response informs applicants, it can take 10-14 days for applications to be reviewed. However, you did receive correspondence regarding your application on 8/3/2020 to clarify information you had provided about your vet. Ultimately, your applications were denied based on the fact that your current pet was severely past due on mandatory vetting requirements. All of our dogs come from situations of abandonment and neglect and we take their health and care very seriously. As such, we are not able to approve adoptions when there is not a history of having kept other pets current on vaccinations and other necessities to protect their health
We were told that we could not adopt one of their puppies because we don't have experience with a puppy and don't have an adult dog. I've never heard of that before and it really blew my mind. So, before I can have a puppy I must first adopt/purchase an adult dog? A few reasons why it's hard for me to grasp this is because almost everyone(shelters, owners, vets) says its harder to bring a puppy into a home with an adult dog, some families may not need more than one dog, if everyone has to start with an adult dog then who is raising and caring for them before they become adults? This company says adopt don't shop but makes it hard for a good loving responsible family to adopt. Part of me feels that its just an excuse because maybe they want to keep the puppies for themselves or family/friends and have to advertise the puppies for adoption to the public due to laws for non profits and funding. I really hope that isn't the case.

rmgdogs 10/01/2020
Apologies for your disappointment, however, our adoption requirements are based on a cumulative 30+ years of experience working in rescue. Puppies are by nature difficult to raise and when not raised correctly develop behavioral issues as adults. Our experience has taught us that it is best for puppy adopters to have some basic dog experience prior to undertaking the very challenging responsibility of raising a puppy

rmgdogs 10/01/2024 Thank you so so much for giving those sweet boys the best life ever! We are thrilled to have you as part of our RMG family!
