I personally know the founder of Rescue4all. She is passionate about saving dogs and putting them in the right home with the right owner. If you are not a good fit for a certain dog, then she won’t adopt that dog to you! For any of the negative reviews out there, rescue is very hard. Maybe you should try it! I adopted my best friend from there 6 years ago. She made sure I got the best dog for me. I will be forever grateful to this organization.
---First my personal experience with this "organization". For about a 3-7 month timeline, I applied for multiple hound breed mixes that I was more than qualified for, as I have 2 others along with a Pitbull mix all on a 10 acre farm property. I applied as directed following her directions to a T!
After weeks of no response, I sent an email and asked in a friendly way if she received my application and had any questions for me (like you would in a friendly way for a job application follow up) or would like to know more about me? No response.
7 weeks later, again I sent another email asking if she received my application, along with a new one I sent for another hound dog. Because I am still very interested in adopting those hounds or if they are no longer available. No response.
3 months later after my first application, I see on her Facebook page several other dogs that have been adopted. I send her an email saying I would like to withdraw my application, as I assume those dogs are likely not there and inform her I will just look into a nearby town where a gentleman breeds coonhounds.
I get an email back THE NEXT DAY informing me my application was withdrawn, one of the hounds was adopted (about 6 weeks after my first application) and absolutely trashed me how I am a terrible person and
should be ashamed of myself because she'll never let any of her dogs go to someone who would consider getting dogs from a "backyard breeder". I found out later, this is a buzz word she loves to use all the time apparently. I just deleted her messages and decided not to respond to her despite being rightly pissed off.
I went onto her Facebook page and the R4A page and saw she had daily posts. So why the heck can't she take only a couple minutes to reply to emails, even to say "I'm sorry, the dog(s) is/are adopted" or "I'm looking for someone else to take this dog, sorry" But to keep me waiting for 3 months and never get a reply? I could have been looking elsewhere that whole time. Very frustrating and angry experience.
---Second, with all the time she spends on Facebook, she'd rather engage in gossip by passing on stories of allegations she knows NOTHING about, such as a nonsense story about Mayfield Animal Centre near Tumtum, Washington. Instead of looking further into these allegations, SHE SPREAD IT MORE calling MAC a "backyard breeder", "fraud", "animal abuser","fake dog trainer", and other choice words that were censored.
There was such a "stink" from people following her and the original posters, that people kept calling the sheriff's department with complaints (despite never being there or seen the place). The sheriff's department investigated, and they found NOTHING WRONG. Yet R4A still trashes this innocent person's business, with no apology.
I took my pitbull mix to MAC, where she was phenomenal and clearly had years of experience in not only teaching the dog, but me about animal behavior. I saw dozens of animals, none of them looked to be in bad shape, other than a couple dogs which she took in from animal control due to being at an abusive home. I could see no evidence, nor had any vibe that something at the property is amiss.
----Third, my best friend actually managed to adopt from R4A and said he will never associate with her again. After adopting a dog, she wanted to take pictures of my friend and his wife with the dog. They have no social media and value privacy and informed her they didn't want their pictures on Facebook. She asked them why with an attitude and got defensive about letting "her people" know the dog was adopted. Again, my friend said, she could take a picture of the dog, but not them in it and wanted their privacy respected. For the rest of the little time there, she "acted like a child that pouts when they are forced to cooperate with people". Afterwards, my friend said they were constantly contacted by R4A asking about the dog, wanting current pictures immediately to see how she is, etc. After a while my friend had enough and told her to leave them alone. She said she "wanted proof they were not abusing the dog" and threatened to call animal control. He told R4A to go ahead and call animal control, because she will look the fool when animal control finds nothing wrong. He said next time she calls, he will record their conversations and go to the police for harassment if she keeps bugging them.
Bottom line, this lady should not be running an organization let alone with pets. She cares more about attention her organization brings in to her from people, than the pets themselves. Nor does she care to answer enquiries from potential adopters unless she somehow "likes you" for choosing her pets homes.
A senior dog rescued by Rescue4All joined my family of three cats over a year ago. Jamie recognized his value and gave him another chance to find a forever home. The careful procedure for his adoption signified the respect given to his needs and future life. The groomers Jamie helpfully recommended treat him with love and respect. When I have to travel without him, he happily moves in with Jamie. As a pet parent, I couldn't be more pleased to have adopted from Rescue4All.
