Mission: The redwood jazz alliance invites and hosts musicians from across the country and around the world to give jazz concerts and "workshop" classes in the arcata-eureka area. The redwood jazz alliance works with local radio stations, club and theater owners, and fellow non-profit presenters to promote jazz music and to further develop the area's national reputation as a thriving arts scene.
Programs: Produced six concert performances and hosted six free workshops by nationally and internationally renowned touring jazz artists, with ticket prices (including discounted tickets for students and seniors)subsidized by local businesses and professionals. Previewed and publicized concerts and workshops via press releases, posters, direct e-mails, and appearances on local radio public affairs programs. Also collaborated with other area nonprofits such as humboldt arts council, center arts, and arcata playhouse to carry out program activities.
