Mission: Promote art in the red wing area
Programs: Fall festival: allows approximately 100 regional artists to show their work and are attended by approximately 10,000 people each year. Fine art show with a variety of music and visual artists.
eleven free concerts in a local park in june, july and august. Approximately 5,400 residents attended, many of them are elderly & handicapped. Regional musicians are employed to perform a range of music.
art gallery is an outlet for local artists to show and sell their work. Approximatly 16,725 people visited the gallery shows
six local residents offered their gardens to tour. Local artists did paintings demonstrations at each garden. All talent, supplies, printing were donated. Approximatly 200 people attended.
plein art festival - artists are located throughout the red wing area. During the festival, special painting and community events are scheduled. Approximatly 3,000 people attened
minnesota veterans art experience - provided veterans with the opportunity to learn about and create art in a variety of genre and express through art some aspect of their military experience in the military. Thirty veterans participated in the retreat at the villa maria center; provided arts experiences for our community to gain a better understanding of how military service impacts veterans - a gallery show with artwork created by 45 minnesota veterans was on display at the depot gallery. Over 600 guests visited the gallery during this show;a sculpture piece created by art kenyon, also a veteran, was installed in levee park. Each year thousands of people visit levee park along the mississippi river. The rwaa also sponsored patrick dewane and general john borling as guest speakers in the red wing. About 400 people attend the two presentations.
art lessons: approximatly 34 students had lessons from 4 local artists in painting with oil, water and glass.
