Mission: The recycling association of minnesota (ram) is committed to increasing recycling in minnesota to improve the social and economic health of our citizens, businesses, institutions and future generations
Programs: Annual ram/swana conference: the 2017 ram/swana conference once again had about 400 attendees that learned about the organics, solid waste, hazardous waste, and recycling standards, best management practices, technologies, and innovations. Educational certificates were provided to attendees of certain sessions.
rain barrel and compost bin sales: provided rain barrels, compost bins and kitchen pails to residents of minnesota with some government sponsored subsidies available.
agricultural plastic/boat wrap recycling: using monies received from the minnesota pollution control agency, ram has hosted educational events, stakeholder meetings and conducted public outreach to inform and educate minnesotans on the increasing opportunities for recycling this type of material. Ram has also worked to improve the current market for plastic recycling and product purchasing for agricultural and boat wrap plastic as well a increase the available opportunities for those who wish to join in the recycling cycle.
