My #GivingStory is fueled by a passion to fight for a cure. Before I met a child fighting cancer, my mantra was to avoid all avenues of 'fighting' by living in a non-confrontational manner and avoiding any uncomfortable situations. But then I discovered there was a fight worth confronting. I discovered behind the cute hairless child fighting cancer, the horrific truth that childhood cancer is the number one disease killer of children in America. And that childhood cancer, which is different then adult cancers, receives less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's funding for cancer research. Since childhood cancer is different from adult cancers, it requires different research.

Children are our most precious gifts, yet they are being overlooked in the fight against cancer! After meeting these brave fearless kids fighting for their lives, my mantra quickly became opposite of how I previously chose to live my life. Now, I am a proud fighter. I fight for the kids who fight the childhood cancer beast. I fight for a cure. They can't fight for themselves'they are just kids. Won't you join me and give to Rally whose mission is to empower volunteers across the country to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. With Rally, 93 cents of every dollar given directly supports this mission. I give with the hope that one day no parent will have to hear the words 'your child has cancer.'
