Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services

Mission: The mission of Raleigh Immigrant Community, Inc. (“RIC”) is to facilitate the social and economic empowerment of refugees and immigrants in North Carolina by: (a) Enabling and promoting refugee and immigrant wellness and integration into society in the areas of housing, education, and employment; (b) Encouraging and enabling Members to secure an education and academic credentials to take control of their future; (c) Equipping Members with information and skills to better enable them to secure employment; (d) Aiding Members in achieving home ownership to facilitate wealth building; (e) Fostering the unity and development of refugee and immigrant communities; (f) Motivating Members to learn the positive aspects of the American culture; (g) Celebrating the cultural heritage of refugee and immigrant communities and promoting cultural pride in immigrant youth (h) Organizing informational workshops, forums, and discussion groups to foster Members’ intellectual development and knowledge of community resources; (i) Encouraging civic engagement among refugees and immigrants (j) Pursuing and promoting cultural exchanges with local institutions and organizations; and (k) Promoting collaboration and partnerships with local and international organizations to achieve objectives.

Results: Since we started serving and assisting refugees in January 2017: - 289 refugees were hired permanently, making tremendous impact in their places of work. - 7 refugees families purchased their first homes. - helped many refugees with affordable low income homes. - 2 refugees were helped to register in the college after successful completion of their GED classes. - English round table going on, refugees has started speaking and writing in English. - successful case management cases (housing section 8 application and approval, food and nutrition services, Auto Insurance, Medical...) - 4 Vehicles donations to refugees to overcome transportation challenges. - 6 addicted refugees were referred for addition treatment, they finished treatment and were able to go back to work... A lot is going on now.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 289 refugees from 4 differents refugees agencies

Programs: Job program, Language services, translation, interpretation, Advocacy, Cultural Orientation, English Round Table, Case Management, Trainings...

RIC does a splendid job in helping refugees integrate in the workforce, the communities they have been settled, and the difficult process of accessing community resources i.e. housing, food stamps, medical services, educational services, legal services etc.
RIC also provides interpretation services to refugees in a number of settings. i.e. Doctor visits, legal visits, school or other educational settings. etc.
RIC continues to provide counseling support and advocates for refugees in a number of settings.
RIC continues to bring together refugee communities through celebrations, meetings etc.

Raleigh Immigrant Community helped me with all my citizenship process, today I've became US citizen. I wasn't able to get an employment by myself, I was invited to R.I.C office immediately when I got there they helped me find my current job.
RIC is making real impact in people's lives and we appreciate.

Raleigh Immigrant Community is helping integration of refugees and immigrants in the area of employment, housing, transportation, donating vehicles to refugees in needs, addition treatments, case management services, refugees registration for ESL and GED programs. I was going through serious hard time in my life, living without job, house, transportation...
unable to get back on my feats by myself. Someone introduced me to Raleigh Immigrant Community, they helped me get a good paying full time job, they also connected me to receive a donation of a car to help transport myself to and from work, they took me to dmv for learner's permit and drivers license translation...
I rented an apartment on my own, my life has completely change ever since I met Raleigh Immigrant Community. Thanks so much for their services.

Based on my age, I find it difficult to get an entry level job ever since I was resettled to United States of America. I came across Raleigh Immigrant Community after 3 days they help me get a job and hired full time with all benefits.

Raleigh Immigrant Community was created to help refugees and immigrants integrate in different communities where they live.
- Since RIC was created over 286 refugees has been served in the area of:
Employment, Housing, Case Management, Language Translation, Education, English round table etc.
Those refugees has became stable, their lives has changed and became blessings to their communities. Through RIC I was able to learn how to sow clothes using crochet, which has became another source of income to me and my family.
supporting this organization will touch and change many people's lives.

They've assisted me with:

Honestly speaking I never see an organization that help refugees and immigrants in triangle like Raleigh Immigrant Community. Ever since I was resettled in the United States I wasn't able to get even a single entry level job. I came a cross R.I.C in 2 years they help me over 5 jobs in 5 different companies, the last job they got for me employed me permanently with full benefits.
They always assist me with a lot of case management issues such:
- care insurance
- DMV classes
- Language Interpretation
- Legal Issues etc.

I am happy to be connected with a mental health organization who is helping my disable son with services such as personal assistance, respite service and community connections.
