Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services
Mission: Raisinghope provides advocacy, awareness and funds to abused and neglected children, many of whom are or were in the foster care system, in the ventura county area through community events, mentoring and advocacy.
Programs: Raisinghope, inc. Held its annual hope4kids festival and run in camarillo, ca. This event featured a 5k, 10k and kids mile fun run along with silent auction, kidzone, food trucks, vendor booths and a foster gallery. The foster gallery featured 19 children who are currently in foster care and need forever families. The youth presented their story and their hopes for a family through video and print. Approximately 3,000 people were in attendance throughout the day to learn about how they can get involved to foster a child, adopt a child, mentor or donate to a child. Funds were raised from the silent auction, run and general donations. The funds raised from this event went towards helping children in foster care pay for extracurricular activities, beds, textbooks for college, specialized medical care, orthodontia and more. Raisinghope was able to help hundreds of children with the funds raised from hope4kids and throughout the year.
