Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: Awakening individual TRANSFORMATION and promoting SAFER, MORE CONNECTED SCHOOLS... VISION: We see a school free from harassment, bullying and violence where teachers are free to teach and STUDENTS ARE AWAKENED TO LEARN.
Results: - Over 24 million people reached - 150 suicides averted every year, nearly 3 lives saved every week - 7 known school shootings averted - A 2012 survey showed a 282% increase in feelings of safety in school - Bullying and violence decrease, including one school in TX reporting an 84% reduction in disciplinary referrals - 99% of schools recommend Rachel's Challenge
Target demographics: Every person to create a permanent positive change not only in themselves, but in their schools, their businesses and communities.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 1 million people from more than 1,200 schools and businesses
Geographic areas served: all 50 US States as well as multiple other countries
Programs: a comprehensive set of age-appropriate programs for K-12, college and business. The objectives of these programs are all the same; to continue Rachel's legacy of kindness and compassion and to: Help schools and businesses become safer, more connected places to live and learn. - Stimulate real culture change by actively involving the entire community in the process. - Change lives by providing culturally relevant social/emotional training. - Increase achievement and ensure results by engaging the participants’ heart, head and hands in a continuing improvement process.
