As someone else noted, I too drove over 50 minutes to get here, but they were trying to push vegetables on us and rush us out as they said they were only opened for 5 more minutes. I had to leave work to accommodate their schedule which is :
Monday 11:30-12:00
Wednesday 11:30-12:30
Saturday 11:00-12:00
I have never heard of a non -profit being opened 2 1/2 hours per week. I have 3 kids with celiac and we were looking for other food than produce, because produce perishes. They had other food, but were just rushing us out. We were very disappointed we drove so far to be treated as such.
I drove over an hour to get here to obtain gluten free food, but the pantry had changed their hours. Only opened 1/2 hour on Mon, Wed & Friday at lunchtime.
For the future, I cannot come back, because I need to work to sustain my household.
The woman, Heather, was rude when I told her I drove over an hour to get there and I told her I was disappointed and asked if there was anything she could do. She did not even offer to help. Terrible to treat people like that.
This idea for a gluten free food pantry is a food one, but this "food pantry" is only open 2 hours per week. Two days (for an hour each day) at lunchtime during the work week. We need to work to make ends meet, so i cannot leave my hourly paid job to get food.
Strange for a food pantry serving people to only be opened for 2 hours a week.
