ER WAS HORRIBLE, BILLING WAS HORRIBLE, PATIENT EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE.
Sat in the ED with my adolescent son, for over 6 hours for a psych evaluation. Some one from the "crisis" team cam over and said two words to us, then handed us discharge papers. Within those six hours we just sat there on a nasty stretcher with a sheet, no one checked on us, and my son had to witness security fighting with an intoxicated patient and other unpleasant patients. NO pediatric ED holding!!!!! If my son had some real mental/emotional health issues he surely wasn't going to get any help here. He wasn't even evaluated by a psychiatrist or psychology, but by a social worker, whom literally asked him one question and then preceded to give us discharge papers. And for this experience I was charged $2,372.00 by Clara Maas Emergency Room and $1516.00 by Clara Maas Emergency Room Medical Associates. I made many attempts to speak with billing to question the charges and received help. They just keep putting me off, saying someone will call you back and they did not. Finally they just sent the account to collections. SHAME ON YOU CLARA MAAS . I see why you have such a bad reputation.
