Mission: The Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation founded by members of the Columbia Law School community in 1980.PILF is a privately funded organization of law students, faculty, alumni/ae and friends that raises money through events, donations, and membership dues to support and promote the practice of public interest law at Columbia and across the country. PILF distributes these funds annually in the form of Public Service Fellowships and Community Grants.
