Mission: Prosalud interamericana foundation, inc. ("psia") is a publicly supported organization which was formed for the purpose of providing technical and financial assistance to 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(3) equivalent non-governmental organizations throughout latin america and the caribbean, or in the united states and elsewhere with interests in latin america, to improve sexual and reproductive health, and to lower the incidence of negative health outcomes in adolescent pregnancy, unwanted pregnancy, hiv/aids infection and meternal mortality and morbidity. Psia uses innovative approaches, such as developing age appropriate educational materials and venues for ongoing research and development.
Programs: Promotion of the correct use of emergency contraception to include printed and promotional materials, workshops, professional meetings, and the costs of maintaining a toll free information line in ecuador, bolivia, peru and chile.
the promotion of sexual and reproductive health rights through workshops in schools, parent-teacher conferences, and community outreach in disadvantaged school districts in peru and ecuador.
