Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: The mission of project now, inc. Is to strengthen communities by helping people help themselves and one another. We envision the whole community working hand in hand to meet human needs, protect human dignity and restore hope.
Programs: Weatherization/energy assistance:provide weatherization and energy assistance to help reduce heating and cooling costs for low-income residents of rock island, mercer and henry counties. Energy assistance and weatherization programs provided assistance to 16,256 clients and 7,463 homes respectively during the year. Funding for these programs is through federal and state grants and local energy companies.
child education:project now's head start goal is to provide early education and comprehensive family support at no cost to families with 3-5 year olds including low-income children and children with disabilities. Funded enrollment is for 330 children. Funding is provided through the u. S. Department of health and human services.
community service:provides application assistance, support, advocacy and information & referral to residents of rock island, henry and mercer counties. Customers are helped to manage their basic needs while they move towards increased self-sufficiency. Rent & deposit assistance to 132 households. 1,163 meals were provided through summer food program to school aged children; homeless prevention helped 27 households with 9,532 nights of housing along with extensive case management. Funding is provided through federal, state and local grants.
