Mission: The mission of the professional assistance program of new jersey (papnj) is to provide services to protect the public safety and welfare of the citizens of new jersey through education, identification, evaluation, treatment planning, and advocacy for licensed healthcare and other professionals in recovery from impairing medical conditions and illnesses.
Programs: There are an estimated 20,000 impaired healthcare professionals in nj. Papnj evaluates, refers for treatment & monitors recovery, provides advocacy svcs, hospital & private monitor contracts & reports to the state of nj for the alternative resolution program. Papnj services approximatley 500 professionals per year. Papnj also received $58,800 in donated facility usage during the year.
