Mission: To create an atmosphere of love and kindness to all who eneter, support those in need of material goods at a price that is fair to each individual, give back to the community to further support those program that are helping other areas of need and to support the mission statement with a spirit that is pleasing to god and glorifies him in all things.
Programs: The princeton closet either sells donated clothing and household goods or donates these items to other organizations for the needy. In 2014, $125,000 of these receipts were donated to area charitable organizations, other 501(c)3 organizations, church related organizations and goernment sponsored programs. Donated clothing, household items and toys are also given at no cost to families and individuals who have suffered from a disaster such as a fire. These people are usually referred to us from local government agencies, american red cross and churches. Excess donated clothing, shoes and household items are either given to the needy or are eventually sent overseas and distributed to countries in need of clothing, items, etc. The princeton closet has approximately 72 people who volunteer their time on a regular basis to assist in the closets mission. The closet accepts donations of clothing and household items throughout the year mainly from individuals. No values are assigned or provided to doors for these items received. Useable items received are added to inventory at no value and either sold at nominal cost or shipped to other charitable organizations for their use in helping the needy. Unusable items received are either sent to recyclers or trashed. Proceeds from sales of these items are shown on form 990 part iii.
