Mission: The mission of the foundation, in cooperation with the poudre learning center board of directors and staff, is to recommend, promote, and encourage community support for excellence in outdoor experiential learning education and provide funding for infrastructure, projects and educational programs.
Programs: The poudre learning center (plc) is a premier facility for interdisciplinary learning focusing on the importance of history, science, economics, stewardship and aesthetics of the cache la poudre river and northeastern colorado. The plc foundation is raising funds to construct the prairie instem station building that will be used by the plc to support research activities, provide instructional programs to k-12 students, and present seminars and workshops. Construction began in early 2017 with completion in early 2018.
the plc foundation endowment fund was established at the community foundation serving greeley and weld county in february 2017. The purpose of the endowment is be to support the charitable, scientific, or educational purposes of the plc foundation and its affiliated entities. The fund was established as various interested persons expressed a desire to establish an endowment fund in the foundation to provide current income and long-term protection for the survival and vitality of the poudre learning center.
caring for our watershed is a program to share information with students about our watershed and the impact is has on our community and local economy. Students are invited to submit proposals that answer the question: "what can you do to improve your watershed? " proposals compete for monetary rewards to help implement their ideas.
