Possibility Place is a wonderful place to volunteer. The adults who attend are always enthusiastic and enjoy having volunteers as part of their day. I love how they create individualized programs for each participant that include vocation skills, life skills, academic, life enrichment and health. Each person receives what they need at that time in their life. A BIG bonus is the friendships they make. You can tell they're friends and enjoy quality time together each week. That's something these adults frequently miss out on once they move out of their local school systems by age 22. It's a much needed program. My wish for 2024 is that we can find a larger meeting space so that even more people can participate in the program.
I initially started supporting Possibility Place by donating gift items for their annual Pal's Christmas Store. I have continued with that tradition for many years and helping out in other ways when I could. I love how each Pal earns "bucks", to use in the store for holiday shopping, by volunteering in our community. Giving back is part of this wonderful program!
In 2022 I was asked to consider joining their Board. After thoughtful consideration I agreed. It's been my honor to support them as a Board Member.
