Mission: The mission of the port chester soccer club is to touch the lives of as many soccer players as possible in our community. Ultimately fostering within them a lifelong love for the game, respect for themselves and others, and enabling all players to achieve their maximum personal excellence. The vision of the port chester soccer club is to provide quality and fun soccer instruction while creating a positive, enjoyable and nurturing environment. We look to give players of all levels in our community the opportunity to play soccer, the encouragement to strive to reach their own personal excellence, and preparation to move to the next stage of their development. In order to supplement our soccer instruction we also reinforce skills such as work ethic, teamwork, discipline, and respect. Ultimately we engage the whole community in our club development and develop partnerships through our networks.
Programs: Port chester soccer club (pcsc) currently has 20 teams registered with the westchester youth soccer league (wysl). Out of this 20 teams we have four teams playing wysl premier a higher division and more competitive league. The number of children registered in our club for the season adds up to 286; also, we have 20 volunteers among coaches, assistant coaches and managers. For the current season we have acquired the services of a coaching company due to the lack of coaches in our community. This company works with 5 teams out of the 20 we currently have. The club serves children ages that span from 7 to 17 years old. Pcsc main goal is to provde local families to access an affordable soccer organization where they can bring their children to a safe place where they are taught from basic soccer skills for beginners to more advance for the ones seasoned in the game. Pcsc in conjunction with the village of port chester recreation department runs their recreation soccer program, pcsc provides the recreation department with the coaching staff necessary to run the program. This program aims for young players, 5 to 10 years old, with no skills in the game. Some of the children at the end of the recreation program join traveling teams from pscs. Through the year, the recreation department runs three soccer clinics with an average of approximately fifty children or more. Pcsc believes that older children that participate in a sport or after school activities are less likely to be trapped by the vicious cycle of drugs, by this as a club we thrive to keep older children involved in the club. Last year, older teams, participated in college showcases that opens up opportunities of higher education for the ones more skillful in the game. Pcsc in 2017 organized a local soccer tournament (march) and an international soccer tournament (september). We have seen that these tournaments have created friendships that have gone beyond borders and teaching tool for local children to appreciate what their parents hard work means for them. We will continue to look for ways to keep evolving as a club and to provide families and children with more exciting opportunities to excel in the sport.
