The museum exhibits individual works of art and historical treasures relating to the city of port arthur and the gulf coast region of texas. The museum operates a gift shop to support these activities. In 2015, 11,963 visitors toured the museum and villa and participated in outreach activities, and 1886 hours were donated by volunteers for program operations.
