Mission: To connect community residents, families, churches, businesses and other organizations in a coordinated effort to improve the education, employment, health, well-being and community involvement of greater pleasant valley residents and surrounding communities.
Programs: Senior action program - we provide programming aimed to reduce sedentary living and promoting healthy lifestyles for senior members of our communities. Members are encouraged to exercise, eat healthy, and remain active in community events. Seniors meet 3 times per week mondays, wednesdays, and fridays. Clients are provided opportunities to attends wellness classes focusing on aging issues, high and low impact aerobics, crafts, congregate dinning, and community outings.
early childhood development 3/4k is a fully licensed childcare center through the south carolina department of social services. The program uses the perry highscopes curriculum to prepare students for primary school. Early childhood development operates 7:45am to 6pm, monday - friday 46 weeks per year. Capacity for this program is 36 students. Tuition is subsidized by local grants and agency fundraising.
after school tutorial/summer day camp for youth - out-of-school time activities are provided to school age children 44 weeks throughout the year. Students from grades k5-5th are exposed to an array of activities strengthening their academic and social performance. Activities include but not limited to: homework assistance, girl scouts, peer interaction, physical fitness, character development, read/math/science sessions, immersion learning, arts & crafts, literature, and recreational activities.
teen center - provides opportunity to teenagers for fellowship, a safe haven to meet other teens, to do homework. Teen center operates monday through friday, 44 weeks, from 3 pm to 6 pm.
