I received my internship wile being only a freshman in college. This is different because most interns are usually at the junior or senior level. The entire staff at the theater has been very helpful to me in gaining the knowledge and experience I needed. Because I am not a theater major at my school interning at the theater is extremely beneficial to get me the experience and connections I will need for my future. The entire staff works so hard and as such a great team that it's hard not to love interning here. It is really important in the theater to work as a team and towards the same goal and here, that is what really matters. It's not about "the business" or "the money" it's about putting on a quality show for the audiences. The Pittsburgh Public Theater really puts their love and effort into the arts. They love what they do.

In my opinion, Pittsburgh Public Theater has the broadest repertory, and highest general degree of excellence across that repertory, of any performing arts organization in the Western Pennsylvania region. Pittsburgh is fortunate to have an extremely active arts scene, and The Public for the 35 years of their existence, has very much been an important anchor for the performing arts in our city. There are not too many companies capable of doing the classics, musicals, cutting-edge new plays, American plays of historical importance, etc. and doing them all well; many productions are indeed exemplary.
