Programs: College preparatory program: pcm's college prep program is the most prestigious college prep program for contemporary music education in the state and is part of the berklee college of music's berklee city music network. This gives access to the pulse curriculum from berklee, as well as scholarships for summer intensive programs and college study. This locally and nationally recognized program is an elite, merit audition based program held 10 months out of the year after school. The college prep program gives students opportunities to learn in a setting that mimics college study with private lessons, contemporary music ensembles in pop, rock, blues and jazz, music theory classes, and electives like songwriting, audio production, music business, and audition and interview (continued on schedule o)preparation. Students have multiple performances and gigs. We give contemporary music students the best opportunity to get into the best music schools in the country with the best chance at scholarships. Our students have been successfully placed at berklee college of music, belmont, arizona state university, nau, gcu and musician's institute. They have earned over $877,000 in scholarship offers. 100+ students served annually.
private music lessons: private music lessons are a way for us to deepen the learning of our participants. In these programs, students engage in long term, intense skill building and craft development on the instrument of their choice (guitar, voice, piano, drums, bass, violin, sax, flute, clarinet). That is a lifetime journey. They work directly with a highly qualified, screened music mentor who will teach them what they want to learn. Private music students get to be a part of a fun learning community in a truly unique facility. A wide range of lesson times are available to fit a busy schedule. Students participate in music recitals, showcases, performances and more! 175+ students served annually, with over 40% receiving financial assistance.
school programs, community education and other programs: after school programs happen in the school's site or a drop in site (e. G. Boys and girls clubs). We have access to these students 1-3 hours per week, and they get the chance to learn a skill set for 5 weeks to a full year in unique programs like steel drums, hand drumming, bucket drumming, created sound or flamenco, along with traditional programs like voice, guitar, choir, and piano recorder, voice, and guitar. These programs link to school day learning and focus on building developmental assets in young people. 12+ schools and 500+ students are served annually. Community education based, these programs are a springboard of learning for beginning musicians. They are introductory in nature. We have programs starting from 6 month olds and (continued on schedule o)their families, to our little hands series (ages 4-7) beginning youth series (ages 8-14), and adult series (ages 15+) in basic music competency, guitar, piano, voice, and violin. They are small class sizes, never having more than 12 students and held in a unique, fun, family friendly environment. These programs are lower cost than private music lessons and a short time commitment to make sure the instrument is a good fit prior to starting private music lessons! 450+ students served annually.
