Mission: The organization's principal activity is to operate a mobile clinic to spay/neuter cats and dogs serving low-income clients through non-profit rescues, shelters and dog wardens who function as partner organizations in out 10 county, northeast ohio service areas.
Programs: Mobile clinic and stationary clinic operations: in 2014, our eighth year of operation, 24 partner organizations (non- profit rescues, shelters, and dog wardens) across 10 counties in northeast ohio invited us into their communities, secured suitable locations, advertised our services, qualified and scheduled clients (based on demonstrated financial need), and collected fees. During the 224 days our mobile clinic was on the road (down from 205 in 2013), we performed 4,411 surgeries (down from 4,475 in 2013), including 1,039 cat neuters, 1,436 cat spays, 993 dog neuters, and 943 dog spays. Our stationary clinic operated during 212 surgery days performing 4,683 surgeries including 1,220 cat neuters, 1,214 cat spays, 1,289 dog neuters and 960 dog spays. In order to maintain the barrier between animals and humans, we vaccinate every cat and dog altered in out clinic that has not previously been immunized, resulting in our administration of 3,253 rabies vaccinations during 2014. Since our operations commenced in december, 2005, petfix has altered 41,703 cats and dogs in cooperation with 24 different partner organizations located in 10 counties in northeast ohio. Our goals for 2015 and beyond are to expand our capability, focus on geographic sectors, more effectively measure the effectiveness of our efforts through better data collection from the community, and to continue to operate our stationary clinic which was opened in euclid, oh in june 2013.
