Mission: To unite peruvian physcians for the purpose of improving medical education and cultural relations between peru and the u. S. To sponsor and promote projects and activities that improve the health quality of life for peruvian and american citizens to receive, hold, invest and administer funds and/or property in the furtherance of these purposes.
Programs: During this fiscal year pamsef members led more than 20 medical missions to locations throughout peru, including the policlinico pams in chincha, peru, a medical center opened in 2011 in response to the need for medical care following the 2007 earthquake. Disaster relief was provided to areas affected by major flooding, equipment was purchased for pediatric units in trujillo, funds were disbursed to support medical schools, and monies were used to support research led by medical students and their medical school faculty. During pamefs annual convention, the scientific conference provides education to local medical students and physicians.
