A wonderful, loving home for these beautiful donkeys who otherwise would have met a terrible end. They are loved and cared for by this amazing woman. After rehabing and gently bringing them back to a healthy state, many are rehomed to their forever home. Love and support this rescue!
Great rescue. I adopted two donkey’s from here that have become a part of my family. So grateful they give animals a chance to heal and be loved.
They go above and beyond to help these precious donkeys live their best life happy, healthy and safe!
I took a team from our ranch to the rescue earlier this year. We appreciated the education Beth offered. We adopted an adorable donkey to join our herd. Love Beth's vision and how her team keeps the rescue going.
This is a genuine rescue, open and honest and doing great work in rescuing donkeys and equines. I am happy to support them.
I have watched this rescue take in donkeys in terrible conditions due to neglect, and nurse them back to health. They also educate the community on donkeys, donkey care, and the need to change how they are treated by humans. Most importantly they help donkeys find loving homes!
I am a virtual adopter at Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue because I believe in their mission to end cruelty to donkeys. Being a donkey owner myself there is not a greater passion of mine and I hope to continue to help educate others to join me in this mission. Beth and her team are absolutely amazing selfless individuals.
This is the best donkey rescue and possibly one of the best animal rescue organizations in the country. They are 100% dedicated to the very best life and care for donkeys, and they provide rehabilitation as well as nutrition and vet care. They are outstanding.
I had seen this rescue on FB and watched it for a while. They had a special event and we traveled 10 hours there to attend. Sure glad we did!!!! We saw first hand that this is an outstanding facility that truly cares for the health and well being of all the donkeys they rescue and it shows in how happy and content the donkeys are. We have become true believers and supporters in their mission and will be regular donors to help them continue the remarkable work they di!!!!
Peaceful Pastures is the most transparent nonprofit I have found for ANY rescues. Beth and all the volunteers do an OUTSTANDING job of taking care of the many precious donkeys there and due to that care many have survived that would not have. Not only have they survived...they have THRIVED!
Have you ever felt the love of a donkey? True they love treats but their gentleness and the tenderness that shines from their eyes truly tell you that they feel safe, loved and are free from any abuse, negelect or torture! They will love on you and let you love on them - and if your soul needs comfort it can be found at Peaceful Pastures, with the many donkeys there who have found peace, love and safety. I have been there and found comfort after losing my husband - I have also been there for a fund raising event and seen how all the volunteers work together for the good of the rescue - giving FREELY of their time and abilities to make life better for these precious ones who have endured so much. Witnessing a birth there that would have been so different if "Journey" had not been at Peaceful Pastures when Jaimie was born. She took treats and was open to being touched even tho she had just given birth - because she felt safe and loved in the environment of Peaceful Pastures. Please visit, please donate and please share.
Peaceful Pastures is truly Peaceful Pastures not only for the donkeys but for those who visit. Do yourself a favor - VISIT & DONATE - you won't regret it!
Our hearts are doubled at the our ranch Double Hearts Ranch) thanks to Peaceful Pastures. Our donkey, Ernie (black) was rescued last year from the kill pen. He has been longing for a buddy to play and bray with on the Ranch. After careful review of our application, herd personality discussions and meeting numerous donkeys, Peaceful Pastures helped us select Trigo (light grey) just the right partner. Trigo has been welcomed by all on the Ranch. Thanks to Peaceful Pastures Trigo is an invaluable member of our Ranch's Equine Assisted Learning program for all ages, young and old.
We had to move to town, which meant our donkeys had to find homes. We were worried about where they could end up, so I contacted PPDR for advice. Beth said to not worry because she would take them all. Since then, I have volunteered, and I have personally seen how every penny donated goes directly to the donkeys. Eventually, I was asked to be on the board and I accepted. Beth works tirelessly to ensure the donkeys, many of them from severe situations where abuse was rampant, are well cared for and loved. The difference in their demeanor after being rescued and cared for at Peaceful Pastures is phenomenal. The donkeys we had are as happy at PPDR as they were with us.
my experience is from afar...I stumbled upon the PPDR page online, and quickly became a follower....this lady not only talks the talk, but walks the walk...and so often, drives the drive to save donkeys in need...some of the videos of the donkeys in need are excruciatingly painful to watch, but absolutely necessary to provide ongoing education about the horrors and abuse these gentle creatures face worldwide, and all too often, in the supposedly developed nations...she leads by example, unselfish and self-sacrificing...to ensure the continued welfare of these beautiful souls in her care...we can all help...no amount is too small...if 1 person donated $10,000 monthly or if 10,000 people contributed $1 monthly, the end goal would be the same...please consider a regular monthly donation to this remarkable rescue
Peaceful Pastures Donkey rescue is love. Love for all creatures. They see donkeys in need that are helpless, and they step in and give them a forever home where they are safe and loved for the rest of their natural days.
I fell in love with a Donkey named Humpy and I can’t have one where I live, they have virtual adoption. So I virtually adopted Humpy. It helps the rescue out. Humpy is happy with his friends and I get to have a donkey! There are two levels $50 per month and the $100 per month. I’m glad I’m helping out the rescue.
As a military veteran, I had the opportunity to serve with Beth, the founder of Peaceful Pastures. After learning about her establishing Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue, I became very curious and immediately drawn into her mission and purpose.
Although I had an extremely limited background regarding equines and especially donkeys, she patiently educated me as to the donkey’s plight and arranged for me to attend a high kill auction. That’s where the real education began. We observed approximately 29 neglected and abused donkeys that had exposed, open wounds and injuries all crammed in a small holding pen, destitute and awaiting their uncertain fate. Many exhibited respiratory issues and most probably would be purchased by traders and shipped either to Mexico or China where they would ultimately be inhumanely slaughtered for either their meat or their hides.
Beth immediately went into action and roughly 14 hours later, we purchased all 29 and headed to Peaceful Pastures where they all immediately received much needed medical and nutritional attention. For the very first time in their lives, many began to experience unconditional love, care, and understanding. As they regained their trust in mankind, efforts were made to further socialize them, establish a comprehensive adoption vetting process and set in motion opportunities for them to be adopted into their forever homes without ever fearing neglect and abuse ever again. I’m happy to report that through largely Beth’s singular actions and effort coupled with our generous donors, where over 140 donkeys now call Peaceful Pastures home.
Although we’re a relatively young organization, great strides have been made to educate the general public and increase the awareness of their tragic plight and the donkey trade. We celebrate their existence and contribution by having an open house on World Donkey Day which occurs each year on May 8th as well as offer ample volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals to become involved. We’re hoping to offer therapy for soldiers and first responders suffering from PTSD and develop a mutually beneficial trust relationship with their equine counterparts that also have a similar condition.
We encourage everyone interested in learning more to get involved. For more information on how you can help, please visit our Peaceful Pastures Facebook Page or the Peaceful Pastures website at www.peacefulpasturesrescue.org. Hope to see you there!
This is such an awesome rescue! Beth is one of the kindest souls I know. She takes time with each and every donkey, giving them love and attention. Which is a lot with over 100 donkeys. She works with them if they need help regaining trust in people, or just keeps them socialized. There is not an unfriendly donkey in her group. She takes time to educate people about why donkey rescues are needed. She selects her adopters with care to ensure they go to great loving homes. She has volunteers and a great volunteer program to help with the donkey. Eventually she would like to do so outreach programs with disabled persons and disabled children. She did very well with all my 15 yr old autistic grandson’s odd questions which tells me she will be awesome at this. There are several programs/open houses throughout the year, and works with the Boy Scouts, FFA and other organizations as well. I go up from time to time with treats for the donkeys and they are always happy for the extra attention. This non-profit is going places with everyone’s help.
This rescue is awesome! I had bad experience with another local rescue that lied about the horse, then I found Peaceful Pastures. I was looking for donkeys or mini horses this time. They are newer rescue but do a great job with the animals and the people wanting animals. I arrived at the rescue unexpected and saw Beth in the field working with a donkey. I asked her to watch and she said sure. In 20 minutes time she had a new donkey that was wild acting eating out of her hand and about 20 min later she had a halter on her. I was so surprised! She asked me questions to see what I wanted and showed me 5 donkeys to start. I loved every one but needed to choose 2 for right now. I will definitely be back!
I visited this rescue with my grandchildren when we wanted to get a couple donkeys. Beth asked us questions about what we were looking for in the donkeys and then showed us some that were perfect for us. It was so hard to choose, but we ended up with our precious babies. There were a lot of donkeys to choose from, and she does amazing work training them to be sweet and trusting of people. It is fascinating but sad to hear all their stories. They do amazing work and really care about matching you with the perfect animal. We couldn’t be happier!
Kind, caring and loving! The world needs more people like this! I’ve visited the rescue, it’s clean, the animals are like pets, they come up and let you pet them and hug them. They do absolutely amazing work!!
I love helping at Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue. Sometimes I spend time grooming and helping to socialize the donkeys (my favorite) and other times I help out with whatever projects Beth has going on. She is always busy doing things to make the donkey’s lives better. She is completely dedicated to helping donkeys and has taught me a lot about training them and donkeys in general.
