This film festival is a scam. The fact that the "organizer" even posted it on here to be reviewed is baffling. The real PBI film festival was a very well known event; however had it's last run in 2017. The fraud who set this up had the idea to create a bogus website and bogus facebook page under the same name as the original festival. He then booked several films to be screened, then decided to cancel two days before the event saying the theatre where the festival was to take place, somehow raised the price of the venue - come to find out they were never paid to begin with. When all the filmmakers came to the event, with the hope that there would at least be other events and perhaps Q&A sessions, it became apparent to everyone that there was nothing, and it was very obvious nothing was prepared or created or marketed for the event. Essentially this fraud never had any intention of having the event. This has bee reported to Film Freeway and the FTC.
This festival is a scam. They canceled all screenings with only three days' notice in April 2023. There were no posters, no catalogs, no banners, or any marketing materials whatsoever. The international filmmakers who came to Palm Beach from about ten different countries started asking questions, and their films got disqualified immediately. They later found out that the Festival organizers are actually impersonating another film festival with the same name, that got shut down in 2017. The matter has been reported to Film Freeway, and the submission page is now shut down.
