Mission: Pax Christi Metro DC is a region of the international Catholic peace movement with more than 600 supporters, 5 local groups, and a dozen parish sponsors in the greater Washington area (DC, suburban Maryland, northern Virginia). Founded in 1984, Pax Christi Metro DC strives to create a world that reflects the Peace of Christi by exploring, articulating, and witnessing to the call of Christian nonviolence. This work begins in our personal life and extends to communities of reflection and action to transform structures of society. By building communities of prayer, study, and action we promote the Gospel imperative of peacemaking as a priority in the Catholic Church in the United States and within society at large.
