Causes: Homeless & Housing, Housing & Shelter, Housing Development, Construction & Management
Mission: Our mission is to bring people together from all walks of life to help our neighbors in need of decent and affordable housing in Calvert and St. Mary's Counties.
Results: Over twenty families partnered with Patuxent Habitat for Humanity to build new homes and more than 15 local veterans received services through our Veterans Critical Home Repair program.
Target demographics: Provide decent and affordable housing for everyone.
Geographic areas served: St. Mary's and Calvert County
Programs: Our programs are a hand-up, not a hand-out. Families must repay an affordable, no-interest mortgage over a 10-30 year period and must also invest up to 500 hours of "sweat equity" in the building of their homes. The homes also integrate families into safe and vibrant neighborhoods, providing the home-owners with important social connections.
