Programs: Sojourner house provides several programs including transitional, permanent and supportive housing in over 99 rental locations in the rochester area. The housing provides shelter, structure, and case management services to homeless women, and homeless women with children. The main goal is to move women toward self-sufficiency and into permanent housing. During the fiscal year 2016-2017 sojourner house served more than 257 women and 246 children. (continued on schedule o) during that year, of those who exited the transitional housing program, 94% successfully graduated from the program. 95% of those successfully completing the program entered into permanent housing. The program recognized 100% enrollment in the life skills classes with a 98% participation rate. Those who did not participate could not due to scheduling with work or school. For the long-term objective sojourner house hopes to expand housing options by including emergency housing services as a program option, create a continuum of care through its partnership with wilson commencement park, serve more clients, increase graduation rates, increase the number of families exiting into permanent housing, and expand youth programming.
