Causes: Community Improvement & Capacity Building
Mission: Educate the public about local sustainable economies, promote economic and community development through environmentally and socially responsible entrepreneurship; work to advance socially responsible economic and community development policies and practices.
Programs: The partnership for responsible business accomplishments during 2016 included the following:organized and worked with a diverse coalition of stakeholders in celebrating national monuments month and nps centennial events. Highlighted the local economic development, and increased tourism numbers spurred by both the organ mountain desert peaks and rio grande del norte national monuments. Education outreach around the benefits of a strong methane waste rule to cut methane waste on federal and tribal lands. The partnership provided support to the blm in the second anniversary of rio grande del norte national monument designation. Engage girl scouts and encourage creation of new white sands merit badge. Education outreach to businesses on electoral transparency, ethics, and reducing the influence of money in politics. Hosted small business roundtables in taos, santa fe, albuquerque and las cruces, to discuss work benefit programs & impact on new mexico small businesses. Advanced the discussion of econominc benefits of public lands. Highlight the importance of the national monuments rio grande del norte and organ mountains desert peaks to local economies. Highlight elements of conservation and clean energy policies of interest to businesses. Initiated programs to encourage businesses to become more eco-friendly and energy efficient. Initiated conversation among small business owners/stakeholders regarding small business priorities/needs around work benefit programs.
