Mission: Parkwest medical center provides quality healthcare, in alignment with covenant health's mission to serve the community by improving the quality of life through better health, regardless of the patient's ability to pay.
Programs: Cardiology: during 2016, parkwest medical center performed 479 open heart surgeries. In addition, the cardiac cath lab performed 3,720 inpatient and 4,550 outpatient procedures for a total of 8,270 procedures. The heart hospital at parkwest is a joint commission top performer in heart, pneumonia and surgical care and consistently receives excellent safety and customer satisfaction ratings from multiple survey sources.
orthopedics: during 2016, parkwest medical center performed 4,648 orthopedic surgeries - 3,267 inpatient and 1,375 outpatient. Among these surgeries, 644 total hip replacements were done, as well as 1,242 total knee replacements.
psychiatry: peninsula, a division of parkwest, is the region's largest provider of behavioral health services. Peninsula provides outpatient services in four counties and inpatient services at a 155 bed facility. The parkwest senior behavioral center provides an advanced level of care for older psychiatric patients. At the peninsula campus, admissions totaled 4,771, with 30,718 inpatient days. Outpatient visits totaled 129,089. Parkwest's senior behavioral center saw 581 admissions in 2016 resulting in 5,185 patient days.
