Mission: To foster the recreational, educational, environmental and cultural life of the miami-dade county community by encouraging and soliciting support for our county's park system.

Programs: Support for the swimming scholarships in miami-dade county pools to provide free learn-to-swim lessons to children who cannot afford them.

fit2play is an after school program that encourages children to stay healthy and active throughout their lives, and prepares them with life skills that will help them to reach their full potential and to become better citizens. Activities include fitness, nutrition and wellness, and developing their appreciation of nature, science, cultural arts and homework help. The program is provided throughout various parks in miami-dade county. The parks foundation of miami-dade provides full and partial scholarships to children who qualify for financial assistance.

the adopt-a-park program provides residents, civic groups and corporations with an opportunity to provide financial and/or in-kind donations for worthy park improvements, including playground equipment, picnic tables, benches, site furniture, landscaping and trees, as well as clean-up, repairs and renovations of existing park facilities.

the foundation provides additional support for volunteer park, beach and nature center clean-up and beautification projects utilizing countrywide special events that provide rich and diverse cultural experiences for residents and visitors. The foundation annually hosts the in the company of women awards program that honors outstanding women in a variety of disciplines and creates a mentoring program for young girls in parks programs. The foundation provides educational programs for children related to bike and swimming safety.
