Aum Home Shala

I was looking to go deep on my knowledge due to I am working with special needs population, I am always looking for more. I found in Aum hOMe Shala the best program with excellent curriculum, team,staff and teachers are very professional they are A+ . Immediately I started to practice the vast cumulo of information that I was absorbing, practicing on myself improving my health in all aspects, and practicing on my clients. They are having tremendous progress.

The amount of wonderful work this Nonprofit does is truly exceptional and needed in our community. From the teacher training, the yoga therapy, and the community outreach, Aum hOMe Shala goes above and beyond to spread knowledge to upcoming therapists and teachers and relief to those who need it most in the community, especially children. Having volunteered with Aum hOMe Shala for the "Do The Right Thing" Miami program and also the volunteer work in middle schools out on Kendall, I have been blessed to have been apart of the experience.

The first day I walked into the Shala this past January I knew I had found something special . I was invited to sit in on the class Ozzie and Lori were co teaching and it resonated with how I wanted to steer my career path. I had been teaching yoga to patients and clients in the clinical and wellness fields for almost 15 years and knew in just a few hours of observing this would bring me to the next level
Melinda has developed a well balanced curriculum merging yoga philosophy into clinical and preventative applications to best serve clients in need. Yoga therapy bridged the gap between physiological and psychological healing that I was searching to assist my own practice to best serve my clients. I chose Aum Home Shala as it was the only accredited Yoga Therapy program in Florida. I was so impressed by the quality of professionals instructing that I recommended 2 of my own clients to benefit from the expertise offered. One applied as a case study for the community clinic and the other is attending the classes sponsored by the National Parkinson Foundation and both are grateful I referred them. I am grateful to Melinda's commitment in this field and hope to continue my relationship with my other "Home" forever.

Aum Home Shala has provided me with an unbelievable opportunity. The chance to study and practice Yoga Therapy with renowned teachers from all over the USA... The curriculum is a challenging one; but this is just what we need to ensure the best preparation for helping our clients to heal. The clinics on Saturday are filled with clients and there are many more waiting to be given a chance to receive Yoga Therapy for their issues. I thank Melinda, Lori ,Ozzie and all the wonderful teachers for their help and guidance and for the great work that they continue to do in their quest to put Yoga Therapy on the Map in Miami.

I personally have studied with and worked alongside Melinda Atkins. I aspire to be as professional and knowledgeable as she is. She traveled across the United States to deepen her studies at the premier Yoga Therapy program in a University setting~the first of its kind in the yoga world. And, she has taken this knowledge and created a beautiful program that will support and develop teachers to represent the best of the best. Her heart and soul is yoga. She gives so much to her students without concern of compensation. She deserves to be supported in any way possible. Because her work is genuine and her talent is immeasurable.

I have been in the Clinical Yoga Therapy Program since October of 2013 and I'm almost finished with my certification. It will be bittersweet, but I plan on continuing my education and volunteering for the group classes Aum Home Shala is providing for Parkinson clients. I have grown and learned so much from all of the teachers and have been able to apply my knowledge in the clinical practicum. This is a steller school that is setting the bar for Clinical Yoga Therapists!

Amazing how much good work Aum Home Shala has been able to do in such a short amount of time. The staff and volunteers are committed to their work. I especially like their work with patients with Parkinson's Disease as my mom suffered with this disease and would have benefited greatly from it if it had started a few years ago.

I am so honored to be a part of such an outstanding organization as a Clinical Yoga Therapy Candidate. The work being done at Aum Home Shala is truly one-of-a-kind and making a tremendous impact in the lives of each Yoga Therapy patient. Pursuing the path of A Yoga Therapist at Aum Home Shala was by far one of the best decisions I have ever made. Keep up the good work!
