When it became apparent that our legal system and our laws are not effective enough to protect our precious children adequately, we turned to the most powerful commodity we have...education. When we found that no one in our area was busting the myths, breaking the silence, and teaching progressive, empowering curriculum, we took to action ourselves. We located one of the most experienced safety experts in California, and went to work writing our curriculum. It's been over three years since then, thousands of hours of experiences presenting, more training and consistently updating our presentation that has brought us to this point. Despite the uphill battle of raising awareness towards the current epidemic of child sexual abuse and getting those in power to pay attention to our NEED for PREVENTION EDUCATION.......I have been rewarded many times over for the volunteer work I have done. I love this organization, the team is progressive, fun, & really cares about the safety of children.

This is a group of dedicated and caring women offering parents education that will support them in keeping their children safe and create an open dialog with them. I know from experience that if this type of information would have been available when I was raising children I would have seen the signs of sexual abuse when they appeared.

When a sexual predator targeted my friend's neighborhood elementary school, she went into action to strengthen the laws protecting children and to educate kids and families about how to protect themselves. She has made it her mission to empower kids and educate everyone who cares for them about how to keep them safe. Not just rhetoric, but specific knowledge and skills that I have shared with my kids. POMWA is a fantastic organization, and one I support whole-heartedly!

POMWA is one of those amazing organizations that when you find out about it, you say to yourself, "OH THANK GOD THEY EXIST!" As a parent, there is nothing more frightening than the thought of someone hurting your child. Sexual abuse/molestation, abduction, these are topics that cause a visceral reaction in a parent. So many parents do their best to protect their children, but how is it that this terrible crime against children is still rampant? As a parent, how can one not be overwhelmed with fear? Worry? How do you keep your child safe without scaring them and teach them to be kind to people without confusing them? This is where POMWA comes in. They provide parents and caregivers with the RIGHT information needed to keep children safe. They come to your home, your school, and they teach you how to EMPOWER your children to stay safe. They teach us to teach our kids the life long skills they will need to survive safely, healthily when we are not around. What more could a parent ask for? I and the many friends who attended the workshops are grateful for the time they have taken to research and provide accurate, valuable, essential information to us. The quality of their presentations are exceptional. They professionally and artfully balance the seriousness of the topic with keeping the atmosphere fun and relaxed. It's the best way to learn!

I am in the personal safety and security business and attended at PEACE presentation soon after being introduced to the organization. My company does not focus on training for parents of young children. My interest was establishing a referral relationship with an organization that did The presentation was an eye opener, dispelling myths on "stranger danger" and refocusing parents on where threats indeed do reside and how to mitigate against them. My company is thrilled to have PEACE as our go to affiliate for this form of training

I have been with PEACE of Mind - Parent Education And Child Empowerment, since the inception of the organization in 2006. This has been the most rewarding volunteer experience I have ever had. Teaching parents and other adults about how to keep kids safe from sexual abuse and abduction is a very sensitive subject. PEACE of Mind has worked hard on the workshop curriculum content so that it is engaging, non scary and impacting. Seeing the confidence in parents faces after attending a workshop and knowing that they can go home and start teaching safety skills to their children is priceless.
