Causes: Arts & Culture, Theater
Mission: The mission of paper mill playhouse is to enrich, entertain and inspire our audience and our students as the nation's premier musical theater. We foster a creative environment for advancing the art form, educating students and developing future theater lovers, while providing access for all.
Programs: Paper mill playhouse, recipient of the 2016 regional theatre tony award, welcomed more than 200,000 patrons, students, and artists in the 2016-2017 season. A professional producing theater, paper mill created major original productions of musical theater classics, cultivated theater artists, and developed new works in collaboration with accomplished partners. The 2016-2017 season featured the producers, the u. S. Premiere of the bodyguard, ken ludwigs a comedy of tenors, million dollar quartet, and mary poppins. Paper mill offered audience enrichment activities, barrier-free accessibility for individuals with disabilities, cultural partnerships, and quality arts experiences for new jerseys underserved communities.
education and outreach programs nurtured new jersey students imaginations through the arts, helping to prepare them for success in all walks of life. Programs included the paper mill theatre school, adopt-a-school project, rising star awards, paper mill broadway show choir, summer musical theatre conservatory, new voices, and childrens theatre/on school time series, among others. Paper mills innovative performances, classes and initiatives for children with autism and developmental disabilities were specially adapted to provide welcoming, inclusive entertainment that families can enjoy together.
