Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: We believe that every person has talents and experiences they wish to share and express with others. We believe that adults with special needs should be embraced for who they are, encouraged to share their talents, and appreciated as valuable members of their community. The mission of Palooza Activity Center, Inc. is to create an environment in which these exceptional adults have the opportunity to form and foster friendships, build community connections, share their talents, and develop skills that will enrich and support their adulthood.
Target demographics: exceptional young adults with disabilities
Direct beneficiaries per year: at least 65 young adults, and other local charities in our Palooza Pays-it-Forward program.
Geographic areas served: the communities of Blue Bell, Montgomeryville, Upper Dublin and surrounding area.
Programs: Palooza Activity Center, Inc. is a community-based organization that focuses on creating social opportunities for adults with special needs to develop life skills, pursue hobbies, and explore personal interests. We do so by providing programs in literacy, arts and crafts, and cooking. Our program offerings are steadily expanding and will soon include fitness and music. Palooza is supported through donations, housed in borrowed space, and staffed by volunteers. Our dream is to have our own facility so these exceptional young adults can flourish at their own pace and in their own place.
