The Palo Alto Community Fund represents what I love about this community -- good people with generous hearts giving back and strengthening the non-profits that improve the lives of the people in Palo Alto and neighboring towns. PACF is a one-stop-shop, allowing me to make one contribution that helps dozens of non-profits. Volunteer board members and a lean staff perform the due diligence on the non-profits who apply for grants. (I'm proud to be one of the board members.) Every year, PACF makes grants of up to $10,000 to each of about 30 of the best non-profits that apply. The funds come from an endowment built by contributions from community members. From arts to health care, to safety-net services, PACF benefits our community.

Mission: The Palo Alto Community Fund focuses on the unique needs of our community and channels charitable giving of local donors to effective organizations that improve the quality of life for everyone in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park.
Target demographics: uplift the vulnerable, encourage education equity, support families and enhance the quality of life for everyone in our community

Programs: In 2022, the Palo Alto Community Fund (PACF) was proud to support 93 local community nonprofit organizations which address a wide variety of challenges and improving the quality of life in our community. Three of the key focus areas pacf supported and some of the programs supported in each focus area this year were: 1. Enhancing and supporting educational success throughout our community by providing- community college students with scholarships and tutoring for adult immigrants- high school youth with academic field trips, debate programs,intensive outpatient mental health counseling, and leadership programs- middle school youth with academic tutoring, science programs, summer academic and enrichment experiences, literacy programs, and service learning expenences- elementary school children with a outfitted sports equipment shed, summer academic programs, mental health services, art & music education and science education- preschool children with in-home literacy tutoring and bookcases2. Building wellness throughout life and throughout our community by providing:- seniors with individualized adult day health care and adult day care programs- abused adults with domestic violence services and emergency shelter- lgbtq+ youth with support services, leadership development and education- adults and children with disabilities with job training and environmental education camps- elementary school children after-school programs and environmental education3. Participating in resolving community concerns by providing: - veterans. Guitar lessons and performance workshop- homeless individuals with nutritious meals, access to a local food closet, mental health care, and access to a mobile shower & laundry service- low income families with legal services
