My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Thrive Alliance, Redwood City , CA, USA
I've been attending Thrive events for years, first as a consultant, then as executive director of a nonprofit, and now as a foundation ED. Every time I attend a Thrive event, I come away with something valuable -- whether it's the content or the connections I make with colleagues. I'm proud to be a part of this network and truly appreciate what Porcia and Thrive bring to our sector.
Review for Thrive Alliance, Redwood City , CA, USA
I am a nonprofit executive director, and have found Thrive to be one of the most helpful associations I have ever joined. This morning, I will be attending a Thrive event on California employment law, just in time for me to bring on some new hires. I have attended a fundraising seminar that was excellent, and was able to get a discount as a result of my Thrive membership. Thrive offers events like these frequently, and they are always useful. The Thrive staff is friendly, extremely helpful, and devoted to helping organizations like mine succeed. Can't say enough good things about these folks.

Review for Racing Hearts, Palo Alto, CA, USA
I first learned about Racing Hearts through the organization's incredibly motivated and passionate founder. I never knew how important it was to get AEDs in schools and at sporting events, and how simple it can be to make these life-saving devices available. Racing Hearts can literally save lives, and it does so through an all-volunteer, highly efficient organization. I've been very impressed by everything I've seen from Racing Hearts, and hope the organization continues to grow.

Review for Palo Alto Community Fund, Palo Alto, CA, USA
The Palo Alto Community Fund represents what I love about this community -- good people with generous hearts giving back and strengthening the non-profits that improve the lives of the people in Palo Alto and neighboring towns. PACF is a one-stop-shop, allowing me to make one contribution that helps dozens of non-profits. Volunteer board members and a lean staff perform the due diligence on the non-profits who apply for grants. (I'm proud to be one of the board members.) Every year, PACF makes grants of up to $10,000 to each of about 30 of the best non-profits that apply. The funds come from an endowment built by contributions from community members. From arts to health care, to safety-net services, PACF benefits our community.

providing valued seed funds to emerging non-profits, and project and operating support to the seasoned non-profits that aid our community.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the fantastic volunteers who serve on the board with me, the committed Executive Director, and the chance to get to know the terrific non-profits in and around Palo Alto.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
transform the local non-profit community, affecting all of our lives.
