Mission: Pacific Wrecks is a free, non-profit organization devoted to sharing information about the Pacific Theater of World War II and the Korean War. Founded in 1995 by Justin Taylan, Pacific Wrecks interviews veterans, collects photographs, conducts archival research and mounts expeditions aimed at documenting wreckage and battlefields.
Results: In 2016, Pacific Wrecks celebrates our 21st anniversary online, serving approximately 5 million unique users to date. Pacific Wrecks has located and reported dozens of Missing In Action (MIA) aircraft wrecks to the appropriate government agencies, helping to bring home both American and Japanese. Pacific Wrecks has helped to facilitate the return of wartime artifacts including dog tags, flags, photos, diaries and other materials captured during the war or lost at bases or battlefields.
