Mission: Pacific vision foundation's mission is to foster the highest level of eye care for all, without regard to ability to pay. Pvf is dedicated to expanding access to eye care for the underserved in our communities, educating the next generation of eye care specialists, and supporting clinical research in ophthalmology.
Programs: We are saving and restoring sight to people who do not have access to vision care. We do this through our support of the cpmc ophthalmology residence program and our partnership with the lions eye foundation clinic to provide free care to unserved communities. Pvf provides support for the cpmc ophthalmology residency program, including support for the program director, reimbursement of educational expenses of volunteer faculty members, visiting professor lecture series and the retina fellowship program. Pvf also provides support for the department chair and section chiefs of neuro-ophthalmology, pathology, and vision rehabilitation. The ophthalmology residents and faculty members treat low income and uninsured patients for no charge at the cpmc lions clinic. Research support includes pre-residency research fellowships, the annual barkan scientific symposium and other research grants.
