Great group of new friends. They will bend over backwards to help out a veteran. My buddy and I had a blast. I caught my first tarpon and it was a rush.

Wife and I were invited to take part in a weekend fishing trip by Jimmy. We stayed at Hawks Cay which is an awesome resort. We were given some great Costa products and then met up with Captain Anthony with No Slack Fishing and headed out to catch bait fish. Wife got seasick because the seas were a little rough and Jimmy didn’t hesitate to ask the Captain to take her back in (Captain had already offered too). I’ve been on several charters and it’s rare that a Captain will do that without any hesitation. After that we headed back out to get on some fish. We had to dodge some rain but we did get in some bottom fishing time. Jimmy and Captain Anthony made sure I was comfortable (because of disabilities) and made sure my hooks we always baited up and ready to go. All I had to do was drop the line and reel in the fish. We caught plenty of fish at every fishing spot that Captain Anthony took us to. But unfortunately the rain chased us back into the marina. Fish were cleaned, filleted, bagged, and put on ice for me. After that we went back to the resort and had a great dinner with Jimmy and Andrea. The trip was really what I needed. Thank you Overseas Fishing, No Slack Fishing, Costa, and Hawks Cay for everything you do for veterans and their families.

Just spent an awesome Weekend with Overseas Fishing! From the time we arrived at Hawkes Caye Resort we were treated extremely well! This was my first time deep sea fishing, so I wasn’t sure how I would do. I didn’t do good, the captain of the boat (No Slack Fishing) went above and beyond to make me comfortable and offered to take me back to the dock, and still allow the others to go back out! Even though I didn’t last for the whole experience, I loved it!

Had the awesome opportunity to go out on a 53' boat for the day! Caught Bonita, King and a beautiful 83" sailfish!!! I'll remember this trip for many many years and hope veterans get the chance to benefit from this organization as much as I did! What a phenomenal cause it was created for.

At a time when I was at an extremely low point in my PTSD depression, isolation, in total dispair, and considering suicide, I learned of the Overseas Fishing organization. I reached out to them, and I thank God I did. I was contacted by James very shortly after reaching out. Looking forward to reconnecting with fellow veterans gave me hope I hadn't had for a very long time. Just the night before our fishing trip, I was, again, seriously considering suicide. James was persistent that this trip was going to happen, and I literally had to force myself to do it. Connecting with fellow veterans who understand as nobody else can is indescribable. The fishing trip showed me that there are those like us who understand, who care, that I can have a life again. That day literally changed my life, and most likely saved my life.
I hope to stay connected with James and the organization as a way to reach out to my brothers and sisters who face similar and like struggles and challenges. This was a therapeutic healing experience like nothing the VA or any other type agency could ever provide. I'm happy to be alive today to tell of this life changing experience.
God bless you and thank you, James, and Overseas Fishing.

Overseas embodies the creed no man or woman left behind. Sometimes after sacrificing for our country, our country forgets about us. It's great that there are people like overseas out there taking care of veterans, reminding us of why we signed up in the first place. I appreciate everything you did for me and my fellow brothers and sisters in arms. Keep up the amazing work!

Granted, fishing is an age-old pastime brought down from generation to generation for the purposes of survival. So too is being a soldier in the Armed Forces, serving for our country: it's continued on for survival and for dutiful pride of all generations who have served before. Fishing conjures the peacefulness, tranquility, and sense of comfort that reminds a newly returning soldier what it feels like to be home again--fighting fishing lines, not enemy lines.

Very transparent and meaningful non-profit organization, who is making a difference in the Combat Wounded Veteran community, by taking them out fishing with quality professional inshore and off shore fishing guides at no cost to the Veteran...
