Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Other worlds is a noprofit corporation formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. More specifically, other worlds creates educational materials that are free for public use regarding topics about international social and economic issues that affect food and agriculture, development, human rights, women's rights and disaster response. The educational material is created from other world's own research, analysis, experience and innovations from coutries around the world. The materials are prepared and distributed in the united states primarily via the internet and in the form of reports and booklets. Other worlds also engages in charitable activities to financially support organizations that help improve social and econolmic conditions relating to the topics in which other worlds educates.
Programs: Harvesting justice. This program helps promote and defend land, water, small scale and ecological agriculture, food sovereignty, and landbased and indigenous people. We foster a greater understanding of and commitment to food sovereignty throughout the u. S. , in a variety of ways. We also support rural and indigenous organizations that are protecting ecological agriculture and the riches of nature.
education for another world: this program documents and publicizes victories, advances, and inspiring trends. We publish approximately two articles a month; run a series on african food and seed sovereignty and on right-to-housing movements; and maintain a blog where we regularly repost stories, articles and interviews.
another haiti is possible: this program promotes haitian citizens' ability to engage in their country's post-earthquake reconstruction and future, generates support for grassroots-led initiatives, and creates a better international understanding of haiti.
